Philippe Malherbe, founder of the malherbe association, offers businesses, family groups and individuals more than 40 years’ experience in business and tax law.
After many years as an associate and then partner in a leading law firm, he founded the malherbe association in 2017, with the aim of offering his clients high value-added support based on legal rigour, independence and proximity, and his partners and associates a demanding and fulfilling working environment.
His practice covers the full range of business law, with recognised expertise in corporate and tax law. He regularly advises on and litigates complex cases, including corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements and disputes, asset structuring and tax issues.
He holds a law degree from the Université catholique de Louvain (magna cum laude, 1977) and a degree in economics from the same university (magna cum laude, 1976), as well as an LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Alongside his career as a lawyer, Philippe Malherbe has held a number of teaching posts. He is an honorary professor at the Université catholique de Louvain, a visiting professor at the Université Paris-Est Créteil, and was an external examiner at King’s College London for a maximum of five years.
He is the author of Introduction to International Income Taxation, co-author of the Précis de Droit des Sociétés, and author or co-author of numerous publications on tax and company law. He actively contributes to doctrinal reflection and the development of practice in these areas.
He speaks French, Dutch and English, and reads German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish and Modern Greek, as well as Latin and Ancient Greek.
